Mental health treatment doesn’t have to be complicated—or mysterious. Here’s what most people want to know before they start TMS.
TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) is a noninvasive treatment that uses magnetic pulses to activate areas of the brain linked to mood. It’s FDA-approved, covered by insurance, and doesn’t involve medication.
Most people feel a light tapping on the scalp during treatment. Some experience mild headache or scalp sensitivity, but it usually goes away quickly.
Some patients notice changes within a few weeks. A typical course includes sessions 5 days a week for 6–8 weeks—personalized to your needs.
Yes. Most major insurers—including TRICARE, Medicare, and others—cover TMS when standard treatments haven’t worked. We’ll help you verify coverage before you begin.
Not unless you want to. TMS can work alongside other treatments, and we’ll tailor your care plan based on what’s working—or not working—for you.
No. We welcome veterans, active duty, spouses, and families. Mental health doesn’t wear a uniform—and everyone deserves support.
Not at all. TMS is not electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) or “shock therapy.” It doesn’t involve electricity passing through your body. Instead, it uses gentle magnetic pulses—similar to an MRI—to stimulate brain areas that affect mood.
No. TMS is approved for people who haven’t had success with other treatments. During your free consultation, we’ll walk through your history and help determine if you meet medical and insurance criteria.
No pressure. Just a quick call to answer your questions, explain how TMS works, and help you decide if it’s the right next step—for you or your family.
